A 12-Year-Old Kid Tried To Drive Across Australia But Some Wet Blanket Cops Stopped Him

Mashable- Driving across Australia, of all places, isn’t something you do on a whim. Yet that was the plan for one kid, who was stopped by police after driving 1,200 kilometres (745 miles) from the country’s east coast. “Checks revealed the driver to be a 12-year-old boy travelling from Kendall, NSW, on his way to Perth,” New South Wales Police said in a statement, via ABC News. But it wasn’t bad driving, apparently, that caught the eye of authorities. The boy was pulled over after authorities noticed the car’s bumper was dragging along the road on the Barrier Highway, located in the far-west of the state of New South Wales. He was arrested and taken to Broken Hill Police Station, where inquiries are continuing. The distance from Kendall to Perth is a mammoth 4,095 kilometres (2,558 miles), which would take 43 hours of driving to complete. Even a flight from one side of the country to the other would nearly seven hours.

Bulllllllllllllshit. Such bullshit. A guy tries to become one with the open road and some wet blanket coppers stop him. Every guy thinks about doing this. Every guy thinks about selling all his shit and just road tripping across whatever country he’s from. Just him, a giant bag of chili cheese fritos and open road. Leave all your worries behind. Sure, this kid is only 12 years old but who are we to punish him for being ahead of the curve? You might be saying, “What kind of worries does a 12-year-old have that he needed to get away from?” Ummmmm excuse me? You don’t know his life. Or you actually probably do and you know how much it sucks. You couldn’t pay me enough money to go back to being 12 years old. So much pressure with girls and hormones and puberty and not knowing who’s your friend and who isn’t your friend. It’s the WORST. I’m getting crippling anxiety just thinking about it. So for these cops to stop this kid from going on his journey is the real crime. Shame on them.
